Bear Bulletin 10/3-10/7

Article

Dear Blue Oaks Families,

We had another outstanding week! On Thursday we had a safety assembly that addressed bike safety. The students learned about helmet safety and how to wear one correctly and why they should wear one, ABC bike checks and why you should use them, street smarts and looking both ways before crossing, where to cross, making eye contact with drivers.

Thank you WATCH DOG for attending our launch party. We had a great turn out and we all appreciate your commitment to your students and Blue Oaks. Click here to view the presentation. If you didn’t make it and would like to participate, there is a link on the last page of the presentation and you can sign up. Please have your TB test, fingerprints and volunteer II paperwork all completed.

You may have heard that your student(s) received a popsicle at snack recess and that is true! Our PTC spoiled our students and celebrated them all as we met our goal from the Booster-thon! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to our school and your student’s education. We will be able to purchase two water bottle stations, cement picnic tables, Story Works for our 4th and 5th graders, iready and field trips. What a great accomplishment!

Second Step

Second Step is our evidence-based social emotional curriculum that all our classes use on a daily basis to help teach empathy and problem-solving skills in a holistic integrated way.   For the next 4 weeks, all our students will be focusing on empathy. Please check in with your student and be sure to ask them what they are learning and help them role play and practice. The more practice they get, the better they will be. Here are some videos that you can watch and review with your student(s).
